109 Comments, 28 Commenters

As you might have gathered, if you are one of the 8 or 9 regular reader visitors to my site, that I like to “do the numbers”. I think I might be a closet statistician, or whatever the correct name is for some who likes to cogitate over the break-downs and percentages about things and stuff.

I have had to go back and manually collect the following data as SquareSpace, who host my site, do not provide any automated reporting about comments. It has taken me hours to gather and chart the following information so I hope all those who have commented are feeling special.

Up to today, Saturday the 9th of October, there have been 109 comments posted to my site; not counting any of my own where I have answered someone’s comment with a comment. I have also removed any that I thought were most likely bots or spammers.

I have gone back through the posts and put the following chart together. This shows:

  • All those that have left comments.
  • The number of comments they have left (Count).
  • The date they left their last comment.
  • The last posting that they commented on.

The format is not the best but this is as good as I could get it to come across from Excel and keep the links working. Anyone who knows a better way of getting an Excel table into Microsoft Writer with hyperlinks intact please let me know how to do it. I have no idea why some of the links are coloured blue and some are coloured maroon. They all show as blue in the Excel source spreadsheet—such is life when working with computers and cutting’n’pasting.

Commenters are listed in order from most current comment posted to oldest last comment posted.

To open any of the links in a new Tab just Ctrl+Click the link.

Observations

I am thinking that ‘gilly’ and ‘gillguy’ might be the same person, but as different nicks were used I have put them both in the list. Possibly Dr Mike and Michael are also the same entity (someone that I know).

The top commenter is cdk_101 with 25 comments, although cdk_101’s last comment was back on the 27th August so I might have lost him (or her). Second is blademaster18, and third is CERT3—my other amazing niece.

Some of the nicks are kind of interesting. Like “ruined4ever”. I am curious about the background to that nick and is it a guy or a girl. I also like “cough_splutter”. There is a nick that brings up an instant mental picture; well it does for me.

I suspect that “christineC” is someone that saw my SCN at Fairbridge posting on the Digital Photography Review site because her comments (assuming this nick is a ‘she’, but one can never be sure about such things on the Internet/Web) turned up around that time.
