117 Uniques—Most Happening Overnight!!

Wow!! At 9:55 a.m. this morning (Tuesday, 2nd August, 2011) my hits counter at SquareSpace is showing 117 uniques for the day; and there are still about two hours of the ‘day’ left to go. The SquareSpace day works out to be from midday to midday in Australia because they work to the USA East Coast time which is 12 hours out-of-phase with Perth time.

But 117 uniques!!

However, as usual, I don’t really know what was getting the interest because in the SquareSpace break-down they show 47.4 percent going to “Other” and 25.1 percent as “Journal” which means the visitors came in through the home URL (abalook.com) and I can’t tell what they might have navigated to after that. So those two slices of the pie account for 72.5 percent of the hits and I can’t tell what they were looking at. So frustrating.

I think I can be reasonably sure that it was not my latest posting that was of interest, being the posting “Part 2: ‘Framing’ Photographs (Digital Framing)”.

Assuming the interest was in a recent posting (which could be a totally bad assumption) then it could have been “Scary: Waking Up 17 Years Earlier in Your Life” (here) or the Babe of the Month posting featuring Doutzen Kroes (here).

It would be useful if people left more comments. That would give a small hint as to what they were looking at.

What I do know is that most of these visitors clicked in overnight (Perth time) because the counter was on 29 at about 10:00 p.m. last night when I last checked it. This probably means most of these visitors clicked in from the USA.

The problem is that the count will most likely dive back down to about 60 ‘tomorrow’. I just don’t seem to be able to keep visitors coming back.
