Someone is Trying to Hack My Account

Someone is trying to hack my SquareSpace account. There have been 88 failed login attempts on my SquareSpace login over the last three days. This is obviously not me forgetting my password. It is someone trying to login to my account in order to do something ‘malicious’.

I have a very strong password and it has obviously held up under attack so far.

But the question is why would someone want to hack into my SquareSpace account? It is not as though there would be any point spoofing my site, deleting all my content (which I have backed up), changing the domain re-direction to link over to some other site, or posting up bogus articles.

If they want to copy the content then that is not right-click protected and never was. Any of the content can be selected and copied so they don’t need to be able to login as me to steal my content.

I only have a regular readership of about 130 so it hardly seems worthwhile trying to crack my login credentials.

Anyway, whoever it is, I have noticed as I check my statistics at least daily, so I would appreciate it if you would move on and try someone else’s account.
