Arantxa Rus Knocked Out of Wimbledon in Third Round

It is a while since I did a Top 10 so I thought it was probably time to bore you with one. Sorry!

There are three key things about this week’s Top 10 posting—not that I do them every week. I basically only do them semi-randomly when I think of some semi-interesting narrative to go with them. And this time I have thought of three semi-interesting things to waffle on about in relation to this Top 10.

So the first thing that regular readers might observe is that Adrianne Palicki is not at the top of the Top 10. In fact she is all the way down in third slot; which is low for Adrianne. The Number One slot has been picked up by Arantxa Rus. That is Arantxa shown at right.

As you might gather from this picture Arantxa is a tennis player, which is highly topical right now as Wimbledon 2012 is on. I know this because I went to my sister’s 70th birthday party tonight and the seriously-big plasma television was showing the women’s 3rd round with Serena Williams playing Jie Zheng.

Because I like to fully research my posts (as much as makes sense anyway) I have checked to see if Arantxa was competing in Wimbledon 2012 and it turns out she is, or at least she was. She beat the Australian woman Sam Stosur in three sets to get through Round 2. Sadly she did not do so well in Round 3 where she played Shuai Peng from China. Shuai beat her in two sets. Bugger . . . I was thinking I would watch one of her matches if she was still in the game. Oh well.

The second thing that my regular readers might notice is the relatively low view counts for the week. This obviously comes about due to the falling unique visitor counts. Unique visitor counts have been trending down since about the middle of May.

The sum of the Top 10 views from my last Top 10 posting was 1,149. The sum of the Top 10 views from this posting is 599, which is basically about half the number of views.

The third kind of interesting thing in this Top 10 is Number 6: “Awesome Sexy Red Mobile Phone Holder”. This posting was basically just a gap-filler as they call them in the newspaper trade. Something to post because I sort of had nothing else set up to post and the idea just sort of occurred to me.

Also, as I had not used my camera for months, I was feeling the need to take a picture or two of something, anything, and this occurred to me.

At the time I never expected the posting to get much interest and yet it comes in at 6th on the Top 10 for the week. In addition to that it has five comments against it as I write this up only eight days since it was posted. Five comments is the highest number of comments for a posting since the posting “New Sidebar Section of Interesting (to some) Site Links” (here) got five comments three months ago back on the 15th March this year.
