Site setting change: References must be editor approved

Due to the amount of SPAM with embedded site references I have changed the settings on my site for references to “References must be editor approved”. It is not that I don’t want regular folk to be able to put a link to there site in a comment, it is to stop commercial spammers putting in links to selling sites.

It’s a pity but I need to do this.

When I get around to doing approvals, which will probably be about weekly, I will approve site reference links to any ‘normal’ sites.

At this stage I am leaving comments open so you can still post comments without needing to logon or wait for editor approval, but if the SPAM increases then I may need to change these settings as well.

Such is life on the wild wild Web.
